Dr. ir. Julie Teuwen is assistant professor in the department of Aerospace Structures and Materials (Faculty of Aerospace Engineering) at Delft University of Technology since 2016. With +10 years’ experience in the field of wind turbine blade manufacturing in industry and academia, she has extensive research knowledge in composites manufacturing. Her research focuses on efficient and cost effective manufacturing of large scale wind turbines with emphasis on optimisation methods of the manufacturing phase and minimisation of manufacturing defects. She has been involved in several national and EU funded projects focused on topics of automated techniques for placement of unidirectional tapes [EFRO Smart Industry Fieldlab: Automated Composites Manufacturing] and process optimisation and residual stress formation in composites manufacturing [ADEM: A Green Deal in Innovative Energy Materials, TUD-P24, Materials for Wind Energy: Development of fast processable materials and its durability behaviour].
